Ukrainian Women’s Fund and the Embassy of Sweden arranged a reading of Seven in the Ukrainian Parliament to start the 16 Days of activism campaign to end violence against women.

About 700 people watched Seven at the National Music Academy in Kyiv, Ukraine 26 March 2015. The reading in Kyiv will be followed by a number of smaller readings, where and when is to be announced.

 In connection to the reading, national help lines for women subjected to domestic violence were promoted as well as the importance of Ukraine ratifying the Istanbul convention on women’s rights.
The reading of Seven in Ukraine is a cooperation between Seven on Tour, the Embassy of Sweden in Ukriane and our local partner Ukrainian Womens Fund.

Zhytomyr, October 7 2015
Ukrainian Women’s Fund and the Embassy of Sweden in Kiev arranged a second reading of Seven in cooperation with Seven on Tour in Zhytomyr on October 8. 900 people attended the reading where the Swedish Ambassador Mr. Andreas von Beckerath help an opening speech.

Ukrainian Women’s Fund

Ukrainian Women’s Fund is an international charitable organization founded in 2000. The UWF provides civil society organizations (CSOs) in Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus with financial, information and consultation support. They are also a member of International Network of Women’s Funds (INWF), Women’s Funding network (WFN), International Gender Policy Network (IGPN) and Ukrainian Philanthropists Forum.

The aims of the organization is;

  • To promote human rights and fundamental freedoms of citizens by strengthening CSOs;
  • To attract more resources to support civil society by developing a culture of philanthropy in Ukraine;
  • To facilitate the consolidation of the women’s movement as an integral part of civil society in Ukraine, as well as in Moldova and Belarus;
